1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how CHIN-SU, a brand operated by Masan Consumer Corporation ("CHIN-SU," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information from users ("you" or "User") of the chinsu.com website ("Site"). This Policy applies to the Site and all content, features, and services offered through it.
CHIN-SU operates chinsu.com as a product information, recipe, and brand content website for users in the United States. The Site provides product details, cooking recipes, store locator information, and related culinary content. The Site does not process purchases or collect payment information. Product purchase links on the Site direct you to third-party retailers, including Amazon.com and selected retail store partners. Once you leave chinsu.com, the privacy practices of those third-party websites govern your information. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal data.
By visiting or using this Site, you accept the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site after posted changes to this Policy will be deemed acceptance of those changes.
This Policy applies to users in the United States. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional privacy rights described in Section 10 below.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide to Us
We collect personal information when you choose to share it with us. This may happen when you:
Newsletter and Email Signup. When you subscribe to our newsletter or email list, we collect your name and email address. We use this information to send you recipes, product updates, promotional offers, and other content about CHIN-SU products and services.
Contact Forms and Inquiries. When you reach out to us through our contact form, email, or other communication channels, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this information to respond to your questions, comments, or requests.
Recipe Interactions. When you submit a recipe rating, comment, or recipe contribution on the Site, we may collect your display name, email address, and the content you submit. We use this information to facilitate community engagement and improve our recipe content.
Contests, Sweepstakes, and Promotions. When you participate in a contest, sweepstakes, survey, or promotional event, we may collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and date of birth (where needed for age verification). We use this information to administer the promotion and contact winners.
Social Media Interactions. When you interact with us through social media platforms, we may receive information from your social media profile consistent with your privacy settings on that platform, such as your name, profile picture, and public activity. We use this information to respond to your interactions and understand our audience.
We do not collect credit card numbers, debit card numbers, bank account details, billing addresses, or any financial information through this Site. All purchases of CHIN-SU products occur on third-party platforms, and those platforms handle payment processing under their own privacy policies.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information using cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, log files, and similar tracking technologies. This information may include these three:
- Device and Browser Information. Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type and identifier, mobile carrier, and Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Usage Information. Pages viewed, date and time of your visit, time spent on the Site, referring URL, click-stream data, the areas of the Site you visit, and how you interact with our content (such as which recipes you view, which product pages you browse, and which store locator searches you perform).
- Location Information. We may collect approximate geographic location data based on your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation data unless you grant permission, such as when using our store locator feature to find nearby retailers carrying CHIN-SU products.
Collecting this information helps us analyze how visitors use the Site, improve our content and user experience, and deliver more relevant advertising.
2.3 Information from Other Sources
We may receive information about you from other sources, including advertising partners, social media platforms, data analytics providers, and publicly available databases. This information may include demographic data, interests, and online activity. We may combine this data with the information we collect directly from you to improve our services and tailor our communications.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect from and about you for the seven following purposes:
- Site Operations and Improvement. To operate, maintain, and improve the Site, its content, recipes, and features. To analyze usage patterns and understand which content and products interest our visitors most.
- Communications. To respond to your comments, questions, or customer service requests. To send newsletters, product announcements, recipe collections, promotional offers, and other communications about CHIN-SU and our products, where you have opted in to receive them.
- Personalization. To customize the content, product recommendations, and advertising you see on our Site and through third-party platforms, based on your interests and browsing behavior.
- Promotions. To administer contests, sweepstakes, surveys, and other promotional activities, including contacting winners and delivering prizes.
- Analytics and Research. To conduct research, analyze trends, and compile aggregated or de-identified data for internal business purposes, including product development and marketing strategy.
- Security and Fraud Prevention. To protect the security and integrity of the Site, detect and prevent fraudulent activity, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Legal Compliance. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.
We do not use your information to process purchases, fulfill orders, or handle payment transactions, as these activities do not occur on chinsu.com.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
4.1 What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They allow the site to recognize your browser and remember certain information across visits. We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device until deleted or expired).
4.2 Types of Cookies We Use
CHIN-SU use four types of cookies on this website:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies allow the Site to function properly. They enable page navigation and access to secure areas of the Site. The Site cannot work correctly without them.
- Performance and Analytics Cookies. These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site, such as which pages receive the most visits and whether visitors encounter error messages. This data helps us improve the Site's performance and content. These cookies do not identify you personally; all information is aggregated.
- Functionality Cookies. These cookies allow the Site to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or region) and provide a more personalized experience.
- Advertising and Targeting Cookies. These cookies track your browsing activity across websites to deliver advertisements more relevant to your interests. They may be placed by our advertising partners and used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on other websites.
4.3 Third-Party Tracking Partners
We work with third-party service providers who use cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about your use of the Site. These partners may include:
| Partner | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
| Google Analytics | Site analytics and usage data | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Ads | Advertising and remarketing | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta (Facebook) Pixel | Advertising and audience measurement | https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy |
We may update this list as our technology partners change. These third parties may collect your IP address, device identifiers, and information about your browsing activity on our Site and across other websites. Their use of such information is governed by their own privacy policies.
4.4 Your Cookie Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, receive a warning before a cookie is stored, or browse in private/incognito mode. Disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the Site.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative at https://optout.networkadvertising.org.
On your mobile device, you can adjust your advertising settings through your device's operating system to limit ad tracking.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent. We may share your information in the five following circumstances:
- Service Providers. We share information with third-party companies that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, email delivery, data analytics, advertising, customer support, and marketing. These service providers are authorized to use your information only as needed to provide services to CHIN-SU and are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Affiliates and Parent Company. We may share information within our corporate family, including Masan Consumer Corporation and affiliated entities, for the purposes described in this Policy, such as site operations, analytics, marketing, and product development.
- Advertising Partners. We may share information, often in hashed, aggregated, or de-identified form, with advertising networks and marketing partners to measure ad performance and deliver interest-based advertising on our behalf. These partners may combine this data with information collected from other sources.
- Legal Obligations. We may disclose your information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request. We may also disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of CHIN-SU, our users, or the public, and to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
- Business Transfers. If CHIN-SU or its parent company is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information through a notice posted on the Site.
6. Third-Party Websites and Services
This section deserves your attention. The chinsu.com site contains four types of links to websites and online services operated by third parties that we do not control.
- Product Purchase Links. When you click a "Buy Now," "Shop Now," or similar link on a product page, you will be directed to a third-party retailer such as Amazon.com. CHIN-SU does not process, manage, or have access to any purchase transactions that occur on these external platforms. The third-party retailer's privacy policy and terms of service govern your interactions on their website.
- Store Locator Links. Our store locator feature may direct you to external retail partner websites or mapping services. These third-party services have their own data collection and privacy practices.
- Social Media Platforms. The Site may include social media features (such as share buttons or embedded content from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok). These features may collect your IP address, browser information, and set cookies to function properly. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the social media platform.
- Third-Party Content. The Site may display embedded content from external sources (such as YouTube videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited that website directly and may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party website, platform, or service. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit after leaving chinsu.com, especially before providing personal information or completing a purchase.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, including:
- Newsletter Subscribers. We retain your email address and associated information until you unsubscribe from our mailing list. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the "unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us.
- Contact Inquiries. We retain records of your communications with us for a reasonable period to support customer service, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations.
- Analytics Data. Automatically collected usage and analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics data retention periods) and is typically stored in aggregated or de-identified form.
- Contest and Promotion Data. We retain personal information collected during contests or promotions for the duration of the promotion and a reasonable period afterward, as required by applicable law and promotion rules.
When determining appropriate retention periods, we consider the volume and nature of the information, the potential risk of unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes of processing, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit via SSL/TLS, access controls, secure hosting infrastructure, and regular security assessments.
While we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable methods, no system of data transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your information has been compromised.
9. Children's Privacy
The chinsu.com website is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information in Section 13, and we will take appropriate action.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws regarding children's privacy.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information under applicable state privacy laws. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them.
10.1 Rights for All Users
Regardless of your state of residence, you may:
- Opt out of marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from our promotional emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email or by contacting us at [email protected].
- Manage cookie preferences. You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, as described in Section 4.4.
- Request information. You may contact us to request information about what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
10.2 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

- Right to Correct. You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. While we do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, certain data-sharing activities with advertising partners (such as sharing browsing data for targeted advertising) may constitute a "sale" or "share" under the CCPA. You may exercise your right by visiting our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page, linked in Section 11.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

To exercise your rights under the CCPA, please submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "CCPA Consumer Request," or by using the webform on our privacy request page at chinsu.com/privacy-request. A verifiable request must include enough information for us to confirm your identity and understand your request. You may submit requests on behalf of your minor children. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, provided we can verify both the agent's authority and your identity.
We will respond to your request within 45 days of receipt. If additional time is needed, we will notify you of the extension and the reason for it. You may submit up to 2 requests within a 12-month period.
10.3 Virginia Privacy Rights (VCDPA)

- Right to Access. You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data and to access that data.
- Right to Correct. You have the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
- Right to Delete. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data.

10.4 Colorado Privacy Rights (CPA)
If you are a Colorado resident acting in an individual or household context, the Colorado Privacy Act ("CPA") provides rights similar to those described for Virginia residents above, including the right to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of your data, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling. We do not process "Sensitive Data" as defined by the CPA without your consent.
To exercise your rights, email [email protected] with the subject "CPA Consumer Request." If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Colorado Attorney General.
10.5 Additional State Privacy Rights

To exercise your rights, please contact us using the information in Section 13 and specify your state of residence. We will process your request in accordance with applicable law.
11. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense of the word. We do not accept money from third parties in exchange for your name, email, or contact information.
Some of our data-sharing activities with advertising and analytics partners, such as sharing device identifiers or browsing behavior for targeted advertising, may qualify as a "sale" or "share" under the CCPA and certain other state privacy laws.
To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, you may:
- Submit a request by email. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
- Use our online request form. Visit chinsu.com/do-not-sell to submit your opt-out request.
- Use an opt-out preference signal. We recognize and process opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), sent by your browser or device. When we detect a valid opt-out signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal data associated with that browser or device.
If you opt out, we will stop sharing your personal information with advertising partners for targeted advertising purposes. You may still see ads from CHIN-SU, but they will not be based on your personal browsing behavior tracked through our Site.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under the age of 16.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy at any time at our discretion. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated Policy on the Site. If we make changes that affect your rights or how we handle your personal information in a material way, we will provide appropriate notice, such as a prominent notice on the Site or an email to registered users.
Your continued use of the Site after the posting of a revised Policy means you accept the changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically so you stay informed about our privacy practices.
